Welcome to the 2007 Reunion Page
Happy
40th!!!
This
years reunion was once again a blast as always.
The best part was...No Rain!! Some people
arrived on Thursday while most everybody else
arrived at various times on Friday. When most
of us arrived and checked in at the office we
noticed the signup sheet for the Mr. Jellystone
Pageant. If you haven't heard about this... It is a
Pageant held by the campground where men dress up as
women and try to win the crowds vote. Well back to
the story..... the list had only one name. Now this
wouldn't normally be odd but what was odd was that
the name on the list was Lester Arrington. If you
know Lester then you know he didn't put his name on
the list. So basically the whole reunion everybody
was trying to find out who put his name on the list.
As far as I know, nobody ever found out who did it.
The first day as usual was spent visiting and
talking to everyone we hadn't seen in a while and
going to Wal-Mart shopping for groceries. As usual
it didn't take Rusty long to have the ladies chasing
him around.

Friday night was spend around the family camp fire.
I missed most of this cause I was being lazy in my
cabin...Shame on me. But I did get to sit by the
fire a little bit.
Saturday started out with the smell of bacon and
eggs filling the campground. After breakfast most
everybody went their own way. Some went to the pool
while others went to the lake or did any of the
other activities around the campground. We
even got a surprise visit from Yogi Bear.

One event that the family is always a part of is the
Sand Castle contest...And you know we won first
place. Last year we also came in first, but it
was a tie with someone else who did a Yogi Bear
head. Check out these photos.

As always, on
Saturday afternoon we had our family dinner.
There was tons of food to eat and did I
mention....NO RAIN. Sorry about that. If you
remember last year, it rained just a little bit.
Anyway...after the good eating we had our annual
Family Auction. This year instead of Ralph Lee
being the host, we had a new host. As you recall
Zach purchased the right to be the new host by
buying the auction hat last year. He did a
pretty good job if you ask me....Keep it up Zach!

As you can see we had lots of items to sell. We had
things from hand bags to quilts, and even a tasty
ham biscuit. After the auction the smaller kids, not
to be confused with us bigger kids, tried
their best to bust open a piñata. Here's a few of
them in action.

Saturday night we all gathered by the fire and Ralph
Lee gave a speech about the importance of family.
After this speech we had a vote to see who would
carry the spirit stick for the year. After the
vote he handed over the Spirit Stick to Lester
Arrington. Lester then won the privilege to
hold onto the stick and add something important to
him to it. Then next year he will hand it off
to the next family member. After all that
there were, hotdogs, hobo pies, marshmallows, and
other tasty things roasted on the fire.
Sunday morning everybody started packing up after
breakfast. Afterwards, they went around saying
their goodbyes. Once all our goodbyes were said, we
all left to travel back home. So until next
years reunion comes along..............
